There are many ways to become involved as a volunteer with the Hawk and Owl Trust both at a Trust reserve or via local groups around the country. Click here for ways to find out more about:
- Conservation fieldwork
- Surveys
- Practical expertise, such as making nestboxes
Many business skills can be of value, from financial and accounting to project management, from photography to IT.
If you are good at organising, even if you have little conservation expertise, your skills could make it easier for others to do what they do best, out in the field.
Download our handy leaflet for more ways to volunteer as part of a local group, through conservation and research work, at shows, in the Trust's main office or on its reserves.
Charitable governance
Trustees sit for three years before offering themselves for re-election, so there are elections annually for some trustee positions. Individuals with special skills they think may be of value to the Trust are encouraged to offer themselves for election. Being a Trustee is a heavy commitment and anyone contemplating such a step is invited to discuss the idea with the director.
