Painting competition results

Oscar the Little OwlWinner of the 40th Anniversary painting competition, organised at the Trust’s Chilterns conservation and education centre, was 10-year-old Shane Craft of Rickmansworth, Hertfordshire. His watercolour on paper of Oscar the Little Owl is shown here.

The centre’s volunteers, Wendy Wilson, Sheila Harley and Ann Everest (all ex-teachers) and educational interpreter Richard Tyson, carried out the judging for the competition which education officer Rhona Taylor organised over the summer.

The judges highly commended two young artists for their crayon on paper entries – Holly Carlisle (10) for her Tawny Owl and Louise Jenkins (9) for her Red Kites, and two watercolourists – Kayleigh Potter (11) for a Golden Eagle and Zoee Hart (10) for a Sparrowhawk.
