Green energy powers reserve
Sculthorpe Moor’s new education and visitor centre draws power from its own wind turbine.
"This not only reduces our carbon footprint but also creates income for the reserve from any surplus power generated. We have signed up to Good Energy’s SmartGen scheme that pays generators for the electricity they export,” explains education and marketing manager Leanne Thomas.
Environmentally-aware individuals can tap into energy generated in this echo-freindly way and earn a contribution for the Trust by signing up Good Energy as their power supplier. More details are here.
