2010 marsh harrier chick aged one day

First footage of the first of the brood aged one day, with six eggs to hatch

The world's first video of a marsh harrier chick that is just one day old, filmed at Sculthorpe Moor 18 May 2010.

This is believed to be the first video footage of a marsh harrier nest with a one day old chick and six siblings yet to hatch at Sculthorpe Moor Community Nature Reserve. The cameras were activated on the afternoon of the 17th May 2010. Over the past two years we have been able to film the development of harrier chicks but this is the first time we have been early enough to have the opportunity to see chicks from day 1. Until the young have fledged, around late July, you can see live footage from our webcam.
