Marsh harrier DVD
Footage from the nest at Sculthorpe Moor 2008, with three young, approx 6 minutes
This short film follows the fortunes of one of the female marsh harriers that bred on our Sculthorpe Moor Reserve in spring 2008. With the reserve’s state of the art camera systems the Trust was able to achieve an exciting first of film from a marsh harrier’s nest. The mini-camera at the nest allowed pictures of the private life of the marsh harrier family to be fed back to the large plasma screen in the visitor centre and on to the Trust’s new website. Some of this unique footage also featured on BBC Springwatch. This six-minute DVD is narrated by Trust vice-president David Cobham and captures the drama as this lone female struggles to raise her three young.
